The Intervention

Debuted Edinburgh Fringe 2022 starring Gareth Mutch and Gus Lymburn

It’s been two years since Finn quit his job, abandoned all social media and disappeared from view. His best friend Ally is beginning to fear the worst when a chance encounter suddenly reunites them. Naturally Ally has a lot of questions. The only problem is, Finn might just answer them.

A new black comedy from award winning writer, Keir McAllister (The Bench) who is also directing his own work for the first time.

“I’m nervous about taking on that role. It’s always a relief to hand over to a director but I feel the time is right.

... It’s a comedy about how dangerous it can be for someone to change their mind. I think one of the things that the last two years has given people, is an opportunity to look at their lives and assess how they feel about it, maybe for the first time. Some people have made drastic changes - they’ve overturned decades of decisions - in today’s world - that’s an incredibly brave thing to do. When the established behavioural norm is to Always Double Down - humility is an act of rebellion... . That’s what this play is about... that, but also funny...
